Mac-book

Today after school me and my mom went down to DC, and walked into the office to meet this guy who took us to this place where you get the computers. Then he gave me the mac-book. He took it out and talked about it. After that he explained how to do stuff and work on it. After a while i went home and worked on it, and played some games so i could learn how to work it.

Holiday

Yay it’s a holiday.

Today I’m going to go to sleep and my dad is going to wake me up at 2:00 am and we are going to watch the foot ball, until 4:00  am. then me and hika are going to work on our science projects. After that we are going to Shannon’s leaving party, were we are going to go bowling. Then when i’m going home, I’m going to finish my  project and other stuff. The next day i have to go to school again.

About Denmark!!!

Every fifth child in Denmark is overweight. In denmark the Government has recommended that children drink max. 1/2L soft drink per week.

The children in Denmark now drink 4 times as much.

As long as the child is growing it needs healthy stuff like vitamins and minerals. So if they eat  healthy food and exercise 60 minutes per day, they should be able to drink 1/2L without any problems.

If a child drinks 1L every week it can gain up to 13 kg in a year!!!

Did you know that 1/2L soft drink contains 25 cubes of suger!

What do you think? Is 1/2L per week realistic?

I think that I from now on I will drink less soft drinks.

Christmas holiday

It was the first day of christmas holiday and i was very excited about Christmas. 
I mostly had fun with my family and hanging out with friends. I went to see quite a lot of 
movies with my friends. I think this christmas has been the coldest christmas 
i’ve ever had, and the best christmas!!! 
It kind of sucked that the swimming pool wasn’t open, but I do know that the water is very cold.

It was christmas day and i was soooo excited that i was about to cry. first i had a play date with one 
of my friends she was also danish. she weren’t celebrating Christmas because her dads friend came over 
and they wanted to celebrate christmas with him so they had their christmas early.

When it was about 6:00 clock we started to eat dinner and drinking champagne. After that we cleaned up and 
then we  got the dessert which was this danish thing where there was crushed nuts but one whole nut in it. 
the one who got the whole nut wins a price and i won. then we listen to some music and danced around 
the tree. Then it was time for christmas present. I can’t wait to next christmas!!!!

China trip

Monday 17th November
 
D.B.I.S To China
  On Monday the 17th November  the year sixes were going to China. We  were really excited to travel for once on our own with out parents and excited to be away from home.   We went to school as usal, then when it was lunch time all the year sixes where going home to make sure we had every thing ready. At 3:00 clock we met at the school. We where waiting for the bus to come so it could take us to the airport. when we were at the airport we were eating our snack mean while the group leaders were cheaking in. Half an hour later we were in the plane and talking to our friends.

 
 The hike up moon hill
 
It was the first morning in the hotel in China and everybody were very exited about everything. The teachers had a hard time making us quiet.  We were going for a hike up to moon hill. but first we had some lovely breakfast. There were two different types of breakfast a Chinese one and breakfast that you normally have. After that we  went to the bus and it took us to the start of the hike. The whole way up to the moon hill we were talking to our friends. The way up to moon hill there was only steps nothing else than steps! There was about 781 steps, that is alot off steps to hike up. we where back down to the bus in about 1 hour but when we got down we played a game and some people had an ice cream. Half an hour later, we took the bus back to the hotel and we got into our groups, and we went to the west street for lunch and a bit of shopping.
 
Batteries cars
 
The batteries cars where like a normal car Because there was a lady driveing it. We went around the village to look around Yangshou we saw lots of different sights like the houses  and they where nothing like ours, they had no windows and it was so cold out in the batteries car. I new that it was very cold out side but I thought that there would be heaters inside the Batteries cars to keep us warm. We also saw chicken’s looked up in cages!!! In the Batteries we sat with our group and of course our group leader. It was  so bumbie so you would all most bump your head badly. When I first saw the batteries cars I was surprised that there was know seat belts or doors.
 
Wednesday

It was a new day and we where walking to the ferry pie because where taking a boat over to River Li. but first we ate break feast as normal and then all the children went up to there room to pack their back pack and all most very child brought a snack that turned out to be candy. Then we met every body in the lobby so that the teachers could cheek if every body was there. When they cheeked we went to the bus and it took us closes to the ferry pier because we had to walk a bit until we were at the ferry pier. there were two boats and Emily’s bus where in one of the boats and Cindy’s bus where on the other boat. when we got there we went by a fan factory where you could learn how to make fans big and small, and you could also buy them. After a while we took the ferry back and when we got there  we took the bus back to the hotel.
 
Hopping school
 
We took the bus to a school called Hopping school where there is some children there was poor so each child boght some things to the children in the Hopping scool. When you where finish giving out our gifts it was really had get away because they where begging for more so I gave out my pens and some candy and all that stuff. They gave us a lot of fruit and some people got bracelet and rings like me. After we gave some stuff we played some games with them. Some of the children draged me up to there class room. The class rooms only had very old chairs and there was tables that was stuck to the chairs.

The beach

My moms best friend Lykke (which means happiness in danish) and her family came to visit us in Hong Kong. They have been here for almost 2 weeks!
One day we went to Sai Kung and rented a speed boat. It took us out to a beautiful island where there was a nothing but a beach. There was no rubbish on the sand and the water was so clean that you could even see through the water. We stayed at the beach for about 5 hours! There was only the beach on that island, no shops or any thing – only a beach. We had lots of water and softdrinks. My mom bought Subway sandwiches for everybody, they tasted good. After that the speed boat picked us up and we went back to Sai Kung where we rented the speed boat. When we got back we looked at some shops and we had an ice cream. In one of the shops they had dogs you could get for free. Dogs that needed a home. One of the dogs had only one eye :-( and there was also a puppy that was very naughty.
When we came home, we were all very tired so we ate dinner and wached a movie. What a great day.

The Kidnaper…..

The Kidnapper….

 
 
Jo and Emily are best friends. They walk to school together, have play dates – generally they spend as much time together as possible. 
One day they meet this sweet woman at school. She’s tall, blond and had the cutest dog ever. They walked over to her and said hi. Emily said,
“What a cute dog you have.” 
“Thank you, her name is Molly,“ she said. Jo asked her if he could hold the dog. 
 “Oh, of course” the woman said,
“but she gets nervous in crowded places… why don’t you come with me instead?”
Emily got a bit anxious – what would her Mum say? But when the woman told her that she had three puppies at home, Emily forgot everything about what her parents had taught her. NEVER walk with a stranger…
The woman told them that she would phone their parents to let them know where they are as soon as she get home… 
 
Emily and Jo went with the sweet women to her house. Emily asked the lady if she could borrow her toilet.  
“Of course you can, it is just across the room” she said. So Emily went to the toilet and when she came out they were gone. Gone like the wind. There were no sign of them.
The kidnapper took Jo to a place where she keeps all the other children that she had kidnapped!!! Jo screamed as loud as he could. 
He was taken to a house in a basement. But he was not alone. There were at least 20 other kids down there. All just as frightened as Jo.
Back in the kidnappers house Emily was very confused. Where did Jo go? She thought she heard him scream, but now she couldn’t see him. Emily got scared and ran out of the house. What was it her parents always said? “Never walk with strangers? They could kidnap you..” Oh my God she thought. Had Jo been kidnapped?
“I must try to find an adult who can help me.” 
So she ran into a shop and told the lady behind the counter that she needed help because she lost her best friend. That she thought he had been kidnapped. An old lady behind her heard what she said and showed Emily a cap.
    ”I found this on the street just outside the shop. Could this belong to your friend?” she asked. That was Jos favorite cap. He always wore that cap.
  Another lady said;
“I just saw a tall blond lady dragging a boy down the road an into the yellow house. .. Could that be your friend?”
“I think we better call the police” the lady behind the counter said.
  ”Oh thank you so much” Emily said.
 
Meanwhile in the basement, Jo and the other kids were getting hungry.
“We need to get out of here, otherwise we’ll starve to death.” 
Jo and the other kids pretended to have a very bad tummy so the kidnapper  came in and said 
  ”what do you want?”  
    ”Three of us have got a very bad stomach. We need to go to the toilet.” As she took them upstairs, the rest of the children snuck out the window. Outside they met Emily, two nice ladies and a policeman. The children told them that the kidnapper was inside with another three kids.
“I’ll call for backup” the policeman said and within a few minutes the house was surrounded by police.
The kidnapper saw that two policemen were watching her, pulling three kids hair… she was caught!
Emily and Jo were glad to see each other again. They got back home to their parents. The parents were glad they were back. They had been so worried. 
They told them about everything what happened.

Wetland park

Last Wednesday all the year 6 went to Hong Kong Wetland Park. From DBIS we took a bus to Wetland Park. When we got there each class got a tour guide who explained all about Wetland Park and took us to different places.

 

Wetland Park is a kind of zoo, which is an important ecosystem of the wildlife. For instance:

The crabs have 4 claws, 2 big ones and 2 small ones. The crabs use the 2 big ones for fighting and they use the 2 small ones for eating. There are all different kind of crabs, Horseshoes crabs and Fiddler Crabs.

We also saw two crocodiles in Wetland and they look sooo scary, but on the other hand it was kind of cool for people who have never seen a real crocodile before. This crocodile has a long thin snout for fish catching. This is an endangered species; the wild population is under 2500. They live in rivers, lakes and swamps. Estuarine Crocodile is the largest reptile in the world. It can adapt to salt water condition at coastal, estuarine area. Some of them live in river or freshwater. You should come to Wetland Park, because you can learn a lot and also have fun!! There is also this kind of game thing you can try after words and there is also a gift shop. I hope you will come one day
